Ingredients [Dr.Nirmala Shetty]

Nirmala’s salon uses fruits (dry and fresh), vegetables, grains, nuts, seeds and spices. “I have a penchant for using dry fruits as they don’t spoil easily. The majority of my ingredients comprise of them. Dry fruits don’t spoil easily and add moisture to the skin when mixed with different kinds of oils and juices of fruits and vegetables.”

Nirmala’s favourite is the almond pistachio paste. Turmeric is often seen in her packs. She uses spices like cinnamon and clove. Regarding spices, she says, “I wouldn’t recommend anyone to use spices as a complete paste. We need to add just a pinch to a teaspoon of them according to the skin type.”

Ginger, seeds like chia and flax, aloevera leaves, avocado, vegetables like tomatoes and potatoes are ingredients for hair treatments. She adds strawberries when in the season to the pack.
