Poster on education

When I google for images on education what I mainly get to see are:

1.      books

2.      pens

3.      pencils

4.      paper

5.      eraser

6.      notebooks

7.      blackboards

8.      schools

9.      human teachers

10. human students

11. computers

12. calculators

13. lab equipment

14. geometry box tools

15. glasses

16. graduation day costumes

17. the globe

18. words scribbled

19. mathematical figures

20. conventional educational charts

What if in an activity on creating a poster depicting education, a student drew these things instead?

1.      Birds teaching their fledglings to fly.

2.      Water birds teaching their young ones to swim.

3.      Carnivorous animals training their cubs to hunt for, and catch prey.

4.      Fairy wrens communicating to their eggs the password that they’ll later use as chicks to indicate that they are hungry.

5.      Meerkats explaining to their little ones on how to tackle dangerous scorpions.

6.      Seals teaching their babies how to survive in Antarctica’s perilous cold waters and icy terrain.

7.      Orangutans educating their children from six months of age, to build nests. It takes three to four years to master the skill of weaving mattresses for sleeping on tree tops.

8.      The whole herd of elephants bringing up elephant calves. (Vulnerable babies are placed in the middle of the pack for protection. Simultaneously, they impart social learning to their children. Elephants of a tribe unite to fight to retrieve their baby which has been kidnapped by another herd.)

9.      Dolphins guiding their calves to safeguard their sponges and snouts while scanning the sea floor for food.

10. A mother bear teaching her cubs to climb trees.

Many  human teachers may have give her/ him zero, thinking the student is out of her/ his mind to draw animals and their kids. However, is the artist crazy? Or is the teacher too conventional in his/ her way of thinking? Maybe, we should stop priding us humans on being the greatest species on earth, therefore think that we only are capable of educating our offsprings.
