Chlorophyll

Only plants have this amazing pigment called chlorophyll, even green animals don’t possess it. I feel that this is the main biological factor which differentiates plants from animals. Some tree trunks, and barks are green as well. The Indian Spurge Tree, (Hedge Euphorbia, or Monosha plant) is bereft of leaves, nevertheless green all over. This green pigment keeps it alive. (Real quote of Rabindranath Tagore, translated by me)
