Supernatural film in Antarctica

Part 1

I’d like to watch a movie about haunting or paranormal activity in Antarctica set in 2025. The film will have flashbacks into various phases of the icy continent’s historic timeline.

In 650 CE, during the European Middle Ages and Renaissance, geographers conceptualized a frosty land mass in the extreme south of the earth. A South Pacific tale orally handed down to generations narrated the experience of a Polynesian voyager who caught sight of its freezing coasts.

In 1520 CE, Ferdinand Magellan was sailing around South America in an attempt to traverse the globe. During the same time, European travellers tried to reach its coasts.

In the latter 1700s and early 1800s when ships to hunt whales and seals would try to probe deeper south than the Cape Horn tip of South America, the gusty winds and afloat ice would put the fishing vessels at risk of shipwreck. That’s why the ships skimmed within safe waters.

James Cook from Britain was sailing across the southern hemisphere between 1772 and 1775. The icy boulders hindered his journey to reach its shores. Who first sighted the Antarctica mainland is up for endless debate.

In 1821, sealers had been reported to be castaways to its algid ice-covered beach after shipwrecks. Captain John Davis, a sealer who reached the continent on 7 February 1821, has been dismissed from many history books. Between 1821 and 1877, there were more than 1000 seal-hunting expeditions.

Early explorers would repeat the mistake of sailing to the South Pole without nutritious food that would sustain them for a long time. Their ration of canned and dried food was deficient in vitamins. The sailors were often affected by scurvy because of the absence of Vitamin C in their diet.

The cook would divide the food into many small equal portions for each person. This included crumbs as well. Explosive fights arose about overeating and the chef was accused of kitchen conspiracies.

The story may be about the phantoms of seafarers who journeyed to Antarctica more than 150 years ago in a feeble wooden ship. Many of the mariners had died of scurvy and starvation. Their ghosts will be interacting with contemporary scientists and adventurers.
