How do birds
migrate without maps?
Perhaps you
are in a place where winter has draped it with snow, and its freezing cold; you
won’t find food there. However there are places in this world where it’s warm;
and there is sunshine, and plenty of food. What will your instinct tell you to
do? Would you have left for a warmer place as soon as autumn sets in?
You see,
birds have wings, so they can fly over mountains, and seas to reach a place
with a climate which suits them better. They cannot read maps like we do. Nor
do they use a compass like us. The sun, and stars are the compasses of
migratory birds. Some are guided by wind patterns. Mountains, rivers, and lakes
serve as landmarks which guide birds through their migration route.
